Which sizes should an ICO include?

For broad use, select 16, 32, 48 or 64, 128 and 256 pixels. This converter offers 16, 32, 64, 128 and 256 pixel presets.

Why does one ICO appear to contain several images?

ICO is a multi-resolution container. By default, each selected size is stored as a frame in one file so browsers and operating systems can choose the sharpest match.

Can I export one ICO file per size?

Yes. Open Options and turn off Combine sizes in one ICO. Each selected size is then exported as a standalone ICO, and multiple files download together in one ZIP.

Can ICO files preserve transparency?

Yes. Choose Source SVG or Transparent and transparent areas remain transparent in each ICO file.
